GUY BOOTH ~ baritone
Guy graduated the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Music. He studied further in New York and Germany. He has received the Dame Joan Sutherland Award , Donald Penman Prize, and Jeffrey Black Scholarship. Most recently in 2007 he won the South East Queensland Aria Competition and National Lieder Competition, and was a finalist in both the San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program and the Australian National Aria Competition.
Guy has performed in numerous productions including the Australian première of Going into Shadows , Albert Herring , Semele , Pilgrim’s Progress and Tristan und Isolde
His concert performances include Verdi’s Requiem, St Matthew Passion, and Opera in the Park and for Ars musca in Germany. Also he’s been a member of Opera Oueensland’s Chorus since 2003.
Most Recently Guy was a Developing Artist for Opera Queensland covering Fiorello in The Barber of Seville , performing the Second Armed Man in The Magic Flute . And performed in Concert with the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra.
